Here at LTJ, we are a bunch of perfectionists. We handcraft all of our jewelry using high-quality materials and construct it to last. However, wear and tear is natural if you’re wearing your jewelry a lot. You’ll want to pay attention to fray, and have pieces repaired and restrung if you notice anything fishy.
Here are a few tips to help keep your jewelry looking great for years to come…
> First of all, wear it often! The oils in your skin will keep the pearls beautiful, the metals shining, and the oxidation (dark color) in the crevices where it belongs.
> Don’t get it wet! No showering, sweating, swimming or washing dishes in LTJ. The water, salt, and chlorine can deteriorate the threads and discolor the metals.
> Save the best for last! Apply makeup, perfume, lotion and hairspray before you put your favorite necklace and earrings on. Those chemicals will gunk up your pretty pieces.
> We know you want to look good, no matter what you’re doing, but please don’t perform hard labor, work in the garden, or exercise in your Love Tokens. (Again, with the gunk!)
> Store it sweetly! Lay it flat, and never bend the leather. Store it away from harsh light, which can discolor and degrade your jewelry. Don’t store it in your bathroom, either; it’s way too moist in there.
> Clean it gently! You can use a polishing cloth, but don’t use chemical cleaners. When you polish, go in straight lines; circular motions can bring out the fine scratches in the metal.
LTJ products are guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship. If you follow the above care tips, but a repair is still needed, contact us and we’ll fix you up.
If your jewelry needs to be repaired because you accidentally ran over it with your car, or if your dog was so excited to see you when you got back from vacation that he jumped up and beads went flying, or if you sported your favorite bracelet in the ocean on your personal watercraft, we’ll happily fix it for you, but there may be a small fee.
